Bus Station is an audio installation commissioned by the City of Olympia, “Here Today” project. Produced in collaboration with Jeff Shannon, the recordings—6+ hours of material on a continual loop—were broadcast over the Olympia Downtown Intercity Transit Station sound system throughout the month of August 2008.

Where usually transmissions of classical music blared over the intercoms to discourage loitering at the station, instead interview clips with local bus riders (including the loiterers) played interspersed with atmospheric interludes.

Interviews with bus riders were recorded by Jenn Kliese at the Intercity Transit downtown Olympia station in the Spring of 2008.

Accompanying musical sketches were conceived and recorded in collaboration with Jeff Shannon and with additional help from Bryce Casson, Mirah Zeitlyn, Onyx Dixon, and Elizabeth Markel.
